the social norm of “its your ethical responsibility to be constantly aware of, and angry about, every bad thing happening in the world at all times, even if you can’t possibly do anything about it” is possibly the best way I can imagine to create burnout and cynicism and depression in a population, so good job guys

Speaking of Apostolic Succession, I’m pretty sure my diocese’s bishop once traced his “priest lineage” all the way back to one of the early disciples (bishop was ordained by another bishop, who ordained by another bishop, who was ordained by another bishop, all the way back to an early disciple 2000 years ago). I can’t remember who the disciple was, but it’s pretty cool he could do that.
